Divisions of Play
Division placement is determined by a combination of variables including player league age, skill level, prior league experience, prior coach recommendation, Little League guidelines and parent input. The registration application will ask several questions to help us determine the correct division for your child based on these variables. You will find information below to help with this process. Little League Age
We offer many programs for ages 4-16. Please see the below League Age determination chart as Little League International has recently made changes to the League Age Definition which could impact your child’s age for the 2020 Little League season. Baseball League Age ChartSoftball League Age Chart
Special Division Requests
When registering, select the age appropriate division. If you want to request for your son or daughter to be eligible to “play up” in an older division, enter that request in the special request section on the registration form. Please note, however, that limited play up requests will be granted as our experience over many years has shown that players benefit more from being in an age appropriate division as opposed to possibly having to compete for playing time and not pitching in an older division. Likewise, enter “play down” requests in the special request section.
HLL reserves the right to re-assign a child to a division other than the one in which he or she is originally registered or requested by his parent. This is done for a variety of reasons: safety, the need for equal teams, for the development of any one particular child, to ensure that each division has the requisite number of players, or for the general well-being of the league as a whole.
Every season we look for new coaches to volunteer in our league, here is the process of how we select them. Once registration closes this gives us a good number to work with of players in the league, based on that, we decide how many teams per division for the season. Once we get number of teams determined we look at existing coaches from the previous year to see how many are returning based on there returning we go to the open pool of coaches, once there background check comes back we offer them a coaches position. If there are multiple coaches for a single division we determine by volunteer sign up time.
If possible and not guaranteed, two (2) friend requests are honored at the non-competitive Tee Ball, Rookie, Single A, Minis and Minors levels. Friend requests are not honored in the competitive baseball divisions (Double A and above.)
Uniforms and Team Photos
Each softball and baseball player will receive a uniform shirt, pants and hat. Team photos are not included in the cost of registration.
Game and Practice Schedules
HLL Softball and Baseball games and practice schedules won't be published until after registration closes and team formation is complete. Below is the GameDay grid we used for previous seasons, but days could change.
Practices are managed by each Coach based on field availability and could be any day of the week including weekends.
Our Baseball teams play on real baseball fields with grass infields.
Snack Bar Volunteers
Each family is required to complete two snack bar shifts spanning 3 hours per player.
Registration Cancellation Fee
Holland Little League charges a $5 registration cancellation fee, this offsets the cost for charges we acquire from the credit card processing and admin fees the league is charged.
