HLL will be introducing travel teams for both Baseball and Softball for the first time this year.  These teams will be league sponsored and compete in three local tournaments over the span of May, June, and July.  HLL is looking at forming 12U, 10U and and and 8U baseball teams as well as an 12U and/or 11U softball team.  These teams would be formed through tryouts the middle of the league regular season (May 11th). 

HLL is pursuing 13U & 14U teams for middle schoolers looking for more playing time after the recreation baseball/softball programs are completed in early June with the goal of keeping previous HLL players involved in the league as either assistant coaches or umpires in the future.

These teams (minus 13U & 14U) would be comprised of HLL players looking to get more playing opportunities.  Players will be required to play in the regular HLL season on their drafted teams in order to participate on the travel team.  The HLL travel teams will be backed by sponsors HLL finds and the costs for tournaments, uniforms and insurance will be covered mostly by HLL with the goal of passing minimal costs, other than transportation costs, onto parents.  Teams will also be able to use HLL equipment and the Maplewood fields for practices.
